Welcome to Forstwalder Hof – Where Tradition Meets Sustainability

At Forstwalder Hof, we believe in cultivating a harmonious relationship between people, animals, and nature. Nestled in the beautiful North Eifel region, our farm combines the rich tradition of agriculture with forward-thinking practices to create a CO2-neutral, sustainable cycle.

Our Mission

Our mission is to practice agriculture that not only benefits the people involved but also nurtures the land and the animals we care for. We prioritize animal welfare above all else, ensuring that our cows are free to graze in the summer and have ample space in the stable during the winter. We aim to create a self-sustaining cycle where every aspect of the farm contributes to the health of the land and the environment.

The History of Forstwalder Hof

The Forstwalder Hof was originally established in the early 1990s by Rolf Holtschneider, who had a visionary approach to livestock farming, prioritizing animal welfare from the very beginning. At its peak, over 700 cattle grazed on the farm’s 100 hectares of lush pasture. Unfortunately, after the BSE crisis, the farm was sold and fell into disrepair due to poor management.

In late 2021, we acquired the farm with the goal of revitalizing it into a sustainable agricultural business that actively contributes to reducing CO2 emissions. We are committed to continuing the tradition of livestock farming, as we believe animals are an essential part of farm life, and they play a crucial role in the ecosystem.
